Welcome to the Sketch-Out

We all have art books and read art blogs and watch video streams of art. How about trying out some of those techniques you're learning about or struggling to learn with other artists? Or if you've finally mastered a technique or style, this is the place to show how you did it!

This is not art class. This is a gym for your art skills.

How it works:

* Assignments/prompts every Friday IN THE FORUM. These will come from our various drawing books or blogs/webpages around the web. We will take turns selecting exercises so each member will be able to use something from their library or select a technique they would like discussed.
* Assignments will be open to all artists of all levels. Discussion on the exercise is encouraged!
* Post a link to your work based on the exercise in that week's thread.

Since we're just starting out, expect some fumbling about for the first few exercises. Help us make it work by making suggestions and asking questions.

I opened a book on my shelf and picked noun at random. I chose "eyes," which was the first noun I saw. I brainstormed everything I could think of related to eyes. My list of words was long, but then I got to "sad eyes," "puppy eyes" and then "eyes…
